Bruce Cryer
Director of Business Development, VeSync
Bruce Cryer has spent more than four decades pioneering innovative approaches to maximizing health, performance, and longevity. Named one of the Top 50 Thought Leaders in Personal Excellence, his multifaceted career spans roles as an author, educator, executive, coach, mentor, and performing artist. Bruce served as President and CEO of HeartMath, having helped launch the nonprofit HeartMath Institute with founder Doc Childre in 1991. As one of the key architects behind HeartMath’s groundbreaking programs, he helped translate the organization’s biomedical research into practical tools that enhance health, creativity, and leadership for individuals and organizations alike.
Bruce’s work has reached the executive and board levels of leading corporations such as Shell, Unilever, BP, Motorola, Intel, Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, and Cathay Pacific Airways, as well as dozens of health care systems in the U.S. and U.K. (NHS). He was the lead author of the acclaimed Harvard Business Review article “Pull the Plug on Stress” (July 2003; republished in 2015) and co-author of From Chaos to Coherence: The Power to Change Performance, one of the first management books to link stress, resilience, and leadership performance.
Since 1997, Bruce has served as Adjunct Faculty at Stanford University, teaching in both the Graduate School of Business and the School of Medicine. He has lectured and led programs at major institutions around the world, including NASA, The World Bank, Mayo Clinic, Johnson & Johnson, Duke University Health System, and UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. He has also been featured in the Lessons in Leadership Distinguished Speakers Series and has served on the faculty of the Global Institute for Leadership Development.
A two-year health crisis transformed Bruce’s life and inspired him to focus his work on personal healing, creative expression, and regenerative health. Now 15 years cancer-free, he continues to share science-based techniques for heart-brain coherence, breathwork, and stress regulation through his VYBRATO™ Method, which helps individuals navigate anxiety and uncertainty in a fast-changing world. A former Broadway performer with more than 800 performances in The Fantasticks, Bruce remains active in the arts and released his album Renaissance Human in 2018. He currently serves as Director of Business Development for VeSync.
