Daniel Garcia is counsel in the North America Transactional Practice Group at Baker McKenzie’s Houston office, where he advises companies ranging from start-ups to publicly traded entities on a wide range of operational and commercial contracts across all stages of the corporate lifecycle. Fluent in both civil and common law systems, he brings a practical, international perspective to cross-border contracting, helping clients manage risk, navigate complex regulatory environments, and ensure agreements are strategically aligned with long-term business objectives.

Before joining Baker McKenzie, Daniel practiced law in Mexico for over thirteen years, serving as both in-house counsel and in private practice. During this time, he focused on corporate law, commercial contracts, and litigation, developing a business-oriented approach that enables him to anticipate legal and operational risks from multiple angles. He has extensive experience negotiating agreements across industries including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, energy, infrastructure, oil and gas, consumer products, and industrial manufacturing, covering everything from foundational operational contracts to specialized project development arrangements.

Daniel’s work has included advising clients on complex agreements for multinational clinical trials, manufacturing and supply contracts, research collaborations, EPC projects, and long-term service arrangements. He holds an LLM from the University of Houston and an LLB and LLM from Universidad Anáhuac del Norte, and is admitted to practice in Texas, Florida, the District of Columbia, and Mexico. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Daniel combines global legal expertise with a pragmatic understanding of business operations to deliver practical, effective solutions for his clients.
