Marije van Lidth de Jeude
Co-Founder, A-01
Marije van Lidth de Jeude holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Economy from the University of Utrecht, Netherlands. She has more than 25 years of professional experience working on sustainable rural and urban development with multilateral agencies, government institutions, NGOs, and community-based organizations. Her work spans all phases of project management—research, formulation, implementation, and evaluation—combining participatory and qualitative research methods with quantitative data collection. Her thematic specializations include gender equity, socio-economic vulnerabilities, migration, capacity strengthening, and urban planning and design.
As co-founder of A-01, Marije leads the organization’s transdisciplinary and multicultural teams in participatory design processes. Central to her work is A-01’s holistic methodology, which breaks the boundaries of single disciplines to create dynamic, inclusive pathways toward regenerative development. She contributes significantly to A-01’s dual structure: the company, which provides consulting and design services at multiple scales, and the foundation, which conducts global research on urban and rural conditions. Marije’s leadership helps advance A-01’s long-term vision rooted in the 4E of integral sustainability—promoting equality, economic resilience, environmental stewardship, and thoughtful engineering.
