Professor H. Eray Copcu, M.D., is an internationally recognized leader in regenerative medicine and aesthetic surgery. Widely regarded as the foremost academic and practitioner in regenerative surgery in Turkey, he founded the country’s first Regenerative Medicine Department and has set the national standard for innovation, research, and clinical excellence in this evolving field.

Dr. Copcu earned his medical degree from Ege (Aegean) University in 1992, followed by specialization in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at Izmir Ataturk Training Hospital. He completed advanced fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Cincinnati in burn surgery, and later pursued further training in Montreal, Lyon, and Tokyo in areas including reduction mammoplasty, lipomodelling, and stem cell technology.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Copcu has held numerous academic leadership roles, including founding and heading the Departments of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery at both Adnan Menderes University and Izmir University, where he also served as Vice Dean and Head of Surgical Disciplines. He is the Founder and Partner of MEST Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Center in Izmir, where his research and clinical practice continue to push the boundaries of regenerative surgery.

Dr. Copcu is the inventor and patent-holder of several pioneering regenerative techniques, including Mechanical Stromal-cell Transfer (MEST), Adjustable Regenerative Adipose-tissue Transfer (ARAT), and methods for autolog exosome isolation. His work has been presented at more than sixty international conferences and has significantly influenced surgical practice across Asia and Europe. With over one hundred peer-reviewed publications, multiple book chapters, and editorial leadership as Editor-in-Chief of the Internet Journal of Plastic Surgery, he continues to shape global understanding of regenerative medicine. His numerous awards and international collaborations reflect a career dedicated to advancing science, surgery, and the art of healing.
